Cannons Practice Schedule

All practices will take place at the game pitch which is located in front of Shenandoah University's Health Professions building (Pharmacy School/Nursing building) located at the back of Winchester Medical Center. The phycial address is 1775 North Sector Court, Winchester, Virginia 22601

Practices for the Fall 2007 season will begin on Wednesday August 1st at 6:00 PM. The second practice will take place Sunday August 5 at 11AM. The remaining practices will be every Tuesday or Wednesday and Saturday until the season begins. Once the season begins practices will be held every Tuesday.

DIRECTIONS TO WINCHESTER RFC GAME PITCH

PLEASE READ: Anyone who has been involved with the game here in the US knows how difficult it can be to get a quality game pitch.  Our club is lucky enough to have gotten access to a field owned by Valley Health Systems.  Keeping in mind that they operate health care facilities it should go with out saying NO BOOZE ON THE PITCH.  Keep them in the car or at home, our sponsor is a local pub and there will be plenty of time to knock back some pints. The parties will be held in downtown Winchester.  Be advised our local constabulary does take a dim view of drunk driving and either actual or perceived public drunkenness, Designated Drivers are definitely advisable.

From the North and West
Route 81 South into Virginia.  Take Exit 317, Stephenson/Winchester.  This is Route 37.  At bottom of ramp bear right.  From here it is 2.5 miles to the Winchester Medical Center exit.  Take this exit and pick up directions under the heading MEDICAL CENTER…

From the East and South
If coming from the east take Route 66 to the Route 81 interchange.  Take Route 81 North to Exit 310, Winchester/Berkley Springs.  At top of ramp take a left, this is Route 37.  Follow Route 37 for approximately 5 miles to the Winchester Medical Center Exit. DO NOT confuse this with the Route 50 exit which immediately precedes the correct exit from here pick up the MEDICAL CENTER…

 Medical Center 
Once on the ramp you should see a large classroom type building immediately to your front.  It has a Shenandoah University sign on the upper right hand corner.  The pitch is right below this building and should be readily seen.  Take a left onto North Sector Court.  Go to the top of  hill and park in the building’s lot.  Please use the end of the lot furthest from the building. 

Directions to the post match party will be given out once you arrive.

Directions to Clearbrook Park from Winchester:

Go north on I-81 to the Clearbrook exit.  Turn right off of the ramp and then turn right onto rte. 11 South.  The entrance to the park will be on the left (there is a sign).

Directions to Sherando Park from Winchester:

Go south on I-81 to the Stephens City exit.  Turn left off of the ramp.  Continue on this road (Old Fairfax Pike).  Turn left, into the park (the park is actually on both sides of the road).  We're now practicing in the softball fields on the LEFT side of Old Fairfax Pike.
